Epcot's Festival of the Arts brings some of the most colorful and interactive food to Epcot. For years now my kid's favorite has been the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip cookie that they get to "paint" with icing. I wanted to bring this magic home and put a Saturday morning twist on the treat by making cinnamon buns!

To perfect the Mickey shape you will need both Grands and regular size cinnamon rolls.

Place them on the cookie sheet together so that as they cook they stick together. Now although the canned cinnamon buns come with icing I made my own so I could make several colors for the kids to decorate with. I also wanted to make the consistency thinner so they could spread it easier. While the cinnamon buns cook make the icing.
Here is the recipe I used:
1/4 cup of melted butter
4 cups of confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 tbsp Heavy cream*
Mix all ingredients together and stir in a bowel. I ended up adding extra heavy cream until it got to the consistency I felt was right for the project I was doing. This will look different for everyone so use your judgment. Next, I divided the mix into 6 bowls and added food coloring.

I handed the kids some paintbrushes and they had the best time!!

For mine, as pictured, I used a spoon to drizzle the icing. I hope this helps bring some of the magic of the Festival of the Arts into your home....and belly!
