Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

The closest thing to traveling to the North Pole and playing around Santa’s workshop this holiday season would be a night at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  It’s the perfect mix of Mickey, Santa, holiday spirit and of course magic. This is a hard-ticketed event that takes place on select nights at the Magic Kingdom during November and December.

All tickets allow party goers to enter the park at 4 pm where you are immediately greeted with a giant Mickey cookie and cute photo ops! With your ticket, you can get two fast passes before the park closes to the public at 6 pm.

Once the sun goes down the park lights up like a winter wonderland.  The castle is stunning, the wreaths suddenly come to life, and there are snowflake projections everywhere.

To get into the holiday spirit, we started our night stopping by several Treat Locations.  Bring a bag or get ready to fill your pockets because you will get TONS OF COOKIES! And this year they are all wrapped in plastic which makes it so much easier to enjoy the next day! And don’t worry about missing a location, they are all clearly marked with a giant candy cane for your convenience.

After you get your treats at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe make sure you stop by Club Tinsel and drop some dance moves with the Polar bears and some of Santa’s elves.  This is a hit with the younger kids and the character interactions are amazing!

While you skip around with handfuls of cookies and singing holiday tunes, make sure you grab a seat early for the Mickeys Once Upon a Christmas Parade.  There are two identical parades; one at 8:30 pm and then 11:00 pm.  Since I have younger kids, we watched the 8:30 pm parade.  We found a spot in Frontierland at 8:05 pm and the section filled up quickly after that.  This parade is full of characters in their holiday best and it ends with no other than Santa!

If you still have some dance moves left, stop by the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jingle Jam and dance with Doc, Vampirina, and Timon.  I promise your little one will LOVE dancing with some of their favorite characters!

Next on the list was fireworks! The Holiday Wishes firework spectacular will have you in owe while simultaneously taking you through a lifetime of holiday memories with its soundtrack and voice-overs.

We finished our evening with a show by the Edge Effect; a local Orlando a capella group.  Dance or sit down and relax while you sing along to the classic songs with their unique twist.

Lastly stop by any photopass photographer for some merry magic shots! They are all over the park. This picture above was taken in Fantasyland next to the Little Mermaid ride.

In my opinion, this event is amazing, magical and way warmer than a trip to the North Pole!  There are so many things to do its impossible to do it all! I would recommend making a list of your must do's. No matter how much you accomplish though, you will leave with a full belly and completely immersed in the holiday spirit!  Happy Holidays!
